Zoom Monitoring

Zoom is the default meeting platform — and a common route for confidential material to slip past network controls. Meeting activity is captured.

Why Zoom Meetings Need Endpoint Visibility

Meeting chat, screen shares, and shared files pass through Zoom every day — mostly out of reach of network-based tools.

A sensitive document shared in meeting chat, a screen share that exposes confidential material, or a recording saved outside the company perimeter can all slip past perimeter security. Encrypted sessions and browser-based access make network inspection unreliable.

Anexet closes that gap by capturing Zoom activity directly on the workstation — after the app has decrypted content, before it reaches the network. The desktop client and the browser-based web version are covered the same way, across Windows, Linux, and macOS, so there is no blind spot between the two access paths.

The risk, at a glance

  • Chat and files, side by side

Meeting chat and file sharing move confidential content alongside everyday conversation.

  • Screens tell their own story

A shared screen can expose far more than the meeting agenda intended.

  • Invisible on the wire

Encrypted traffic hides content from the network — only endpoint capture actually sees it.

Capture Zoom Chats and Files — in One Agent

Everything you need to bring Zoom under control, included as your plan grows.

  • Usage & activity

See who uses Zoom, when, and how much. Zoom time and activity feed straight into employee-monitoring and productivity reports.

  • Chat & file capture

Capture meeting chat, shared files, and screen and audio activity on the endpoint — searchable in the Client Console with the user and timestamp behind each event.

  • File-transfer blocking

Security policies stop risky file transfers (Advanced), and content-aware rules match by digital fingerprint, keyword, or sensitivity label (Premium) — so a confidential document can be read in the Client Console but not sent through Zoom.

What Anexet Captures in Zoom

Anexet records Zoom activity as the user experiences it: in-meeting chat messages and files shared in meeting chat, with the user identity and timestamp attached to every event. Anything copied out of a meeting is covered too, through Anexet's general clipboard control. Meeting screens and audio are captured through Anexet's screen recording and microphone capture, part of the Activity monitoring module, rather than a separate Zoom interceptor.

Because capture happens on the endpoint rather than the wire, no network decryption is required, and Zoom web is captured just like the desktop client. From the Advanced plan, security policies block file transfers in the Zoom desktop client's meeting chat; with Premium, content-aware rules block by fingerprint, hash value, or sensitivity label, and speech-to-text turns captured meeting audio into searchable text.

How Zoom Control Works

From a Zoom meeting on the endpoint to a controlled, searchable record.

A lightweight agent on the workstation captures Zoom activity at the application layer — desktop client and web version alike.

1

Captured chat, files, and meeting recordings are sent to your on-premise server and indexed for search.

2

Security policies scan content in real time and can block, quarantine, or alert on a match.

3

Analysts review meetings, build cases, and export court-grade evidence from the Client Console.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about how Anexet handles Zoom.

Can Anexet monitor Zoom if it's end-to-end encrypted?

Yes. Anexet captures Zoom on the endpoint — after the app decrypts content on the device — so encryption between Zoom servers does not prevent monitoring. Meeting chat and shared files are captured as the user sees them. The exact coverage for your environment is confirmed during the demo.

Yes. Endpoint capture covers the Zoom desktop client and the browser-based web version the same way, on Windows, Linux, and macOS.

Yes. Meeting capture works through Anexet's screen recording and microphone capture, part of the Activity module and included from the Standard plan, rather than a separate Zoom recording interceptor.

Yes, from the Advanced plan. Security policies block file transfers in meeting chat on the Zoom desktop client; content-aware blocking by digital fingerprint, hash value, or sensitivity label is part of Premium, so a confidential document can be read in the console but never sent.

Never. Anexet is deployed on-premise: all captured Zoom data, including chat, files, and meeting recordings, stays inside your infrastructure, and the vendor has no access to it.
