Web Traffic Monitoring & Website Control

The browser is where most of the working day — and most of the data — moves. Anexet captures HTTP/HTTPS activity, browser sessions, and search queries on the endpoint, and blocks sites that fall outside policy. On-premise, with no vendor access to your data.

See the Web, Control the Web

Browsers and web apps are the busiest channel on every workstation — and the easiest place for data to slip out unnoticed.

Anexet captures HTTP and HTTPS activity directly on the endpoint, so visited sites, web sessions, and submitted forms are recorded the same way regardless of which web app an employee opens. Time and activity inside Chrome, Edge, and Firefox are tracked alongside the traffic itself.

Search queries — what employees look for and what they submit — are part of the Web area of the capture scope, giving early signals of intent long before a file ever leaves the company.

From there, site policy turns visibility into control: addresses outside your allow-list are blocked at the endpoint, and an optional ICAP proxy integration on the Premium plan extends analysis at the network gateway.

Why it matters

  • Captured at the endpoint

HTTP/HTTPS activity and browser sessions are recorded on the device — no reliance on the perimeter alone.

  • Block what's off-policy

Sites outside your policy are blocked at the workstation, with full control over allowed destinations.

  • Intent, early

Search and submitted queries surface risky behaviour before data ever moves.

Web Activity, Captured and Controlled

Web and browser capture is included from the Standard plan. Site blocking outside policy is included; ICAP proxy integration for gateway-level analysis is part of Premium.

Web traffic & sites

  • Web traffic (HTTP / HTTPS)

    Standard

Visited sites, web sessions, and submitted data captured on the endpoint, with blocking of addresses outside policy.

  • Website policy & blocking

    Standard

Allow- and block-lists enforced at the workstation; off-policy sites are stopped before they load.

  • ICAP proxy integration

    Premium

Optional web-traffic analysis at the network gateway through an ICAP proxy.

Browser monitoring

  • Google Chrome

    Standard

Activity and time spent in Chrome, tied to user and timestamp.

  • Microsoft Edge

    Standard

Sessions and time in Edge recorded on the endpoint.

  • Mozilla Firefox

    Standard

Browser activity and time in Firefox captured locally.

Search & queries

  • Search-query control

    Standard

Search terms and submitted queries captured in the Web area of the scope.

  • Web form submissions

    Standard

Data entered and sent through web forms is visible alongside the page it came from.

Coverage varies by operating system (Windows, Linux, macOS) and browser version. The exact set — and the HTTPS handling method — is confirmed for your environment during the demo.

What Anexet Captures — and Blocks

Anexet records web activity on the endpoint: visited addresses, web sessions, submitted forms, and search queries, each tied to a user and a timestamp. Because capture happens on the device, HTTPS sites and modern web apps are covered the same as ordinary page visits, and browser time in Chrome, Edge, and Firefox is logged alongside the traffic.

Website policy turns that visibility into control. Addresses outside your allow-list are blocked at the workstation, so off-policy sites never load. For organisations that prefer gateway-level inspection, an optional ICAP proxy integration on the Premium plan analyses web traffic through the proxy. Every visit and block is logged as searchable evidence in the Client Console.

Capture & Blocking by Web Channel

At a glance — what Anexet records and controls across web traffic, browsers, and search. Capture is included from the Standard plan; site blocking outside policy is included, and ICAP proxy analysis comes with Premium.

Capture is included from Standard. "Site blocking" means addresses outside policy are blocked at the workstation; "Capture only" channels are recorded for visibility and analysis but not blocked directly. ICAP proxy integration for gateway-level web-traffic analysis is part of Premium.

How Web Traffic Monitoring Works

Four steps from a page request on the endpoint to a controlled, searchable record.

A lightweight agent on the workstation captures HTTP/HTTPS activity, browser sessions, and search queries.

1

Captured web events are sent to your on-premise server and indexed for full-text search.

2

Website policy and security rules evaluate each request in real time and block addresses outside your allow-list.

3

Analysts review web activity, build cases, and export evidence from the Client Console; ICAP proxy adds gateway-level analysis on Premium.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about how Anexet monitors and controls web traffic and browsers.

Can Anexet monitor HTTPS traffic?

Yes. Web activity is captured on the endpoint, where HTTPS sites and modern web apps are recorded the same as ordinary page visits. The exact HTTPS handling method for your environment is confirmed during the demo.

Anexet monitors activity and time spent in the major browsers — Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox — capturing sessions on the endpoint. Coverage can vary by operating system and browser version, and is confirmed for your environment during the demo.

Yes, from the Standard plan. Website policy enforces allow- and block-lists at the workstation, so addresses outside your policy never load. An optional ICAP proxy integration on the Premium plan extends web-traffic analysis at the network gateway.

Yes. Search terms and submitted queries are part of the Web area of the capture scope, so you can see what employees search for and what they submit through web forms — an early signal of intent.

Never. Anexet is deployed fully on-premise: all captured web data stays inside your infrastructure and the vendor has no access to it.
